Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Small baking dish
  • Parchment Paper optional but helpful

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil melted
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup use maple syrup or mashed banana for babies under 1
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • In a mixing bowl, stir together the oats, flour, melted coconut oil, and honey or maple syrup. The mixture should be crumbly but hold together when pressed.
  • Press half of the oat mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared dish to create the base layer.
  • Spread the raspberries evenly over the base. If using frozen raspberries, there’s no need to thaw them first.
  • Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the fruit layer, gently pressing it down with a spoon or your fingers.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges look slightly crisp.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing. This helps them firm up. For younger babies, mash or cut into tiny pieces.

Notes

Storage: Store bars in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
Reheat: Gently warm in the microwave for 10–15 seconds before serving. Always check the temperature before offering to little ones.
For early eaters: Mash the bars into small bits or mix with yogurt for a softer, spoonable texture.
Allergy-friendly swaps: Use gluten-free oats and flour to make it gluten-free. Swap honey for maple syrup or mashed banana for a baby-safe version.
Nutrition boost: Stir in a tablespoon of ground flaxseed, chia seeds, or finely grated zucchini to add extra nutrients without changing the flavor.
Parent tip: These bars make a great addition to lunchboxes, and you can call them “Jammy Squares” or “Oatmeal Crumble Bars” to make them extra fun for toddlers!
