Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Small baking dish
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1 cup broccoli florets steamed and chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt and pepper optional, use lightly for toddlers

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a small baking dish. This makes cleanup easier and prevents sticking.
  • Mix quinoa, broccoli, and cheese in a large bowl until well combined. The cheese will help bind everything together.
  • Add Greek yogurt, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and stir until the mixture looks creamy. Don’t worry if it feels thick — that’s normal.
  • Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. This ensures even baking and toddler-friendly portions later.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until the casserole is set and the top is lightly golden.
  • Cool slightly before serving. Cut into small, soft pieces and check the temperature before offering it to your toddler.

Notes

Storage Tips: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze individual portions for up to 2 months. Reheat thoroughly before serving.
Age Modifications: For babies, mash or puree with extra milk or broth for a smoother texture. For older toddlers, leave the broccoli chunkier.
Allergy-Friendly Options: Use dairy-free cheese and yogurt for a lactose-free version. Swap the egg with a flax or chia egg for egg-free.
Nutrition Boost: Stir in ground flaxseed, chia seeds, or even a spoonful of nut butter for extra nutrients.
Parent Tip: Make a double batch and freeze half — perfect for busy weekdays!
