Ingredients
  

  • 2 medium potatoes peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup cauliflower florets fresh or frozen
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter dairy-free alternative
  • 1/4 cup milk dairy-free alternative
  • pinch of salt optional, for older toddlers

Instructions
 

  • Place the potatoes and cauliflower in a medium saucepan. Add enough water to cover and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Cook for about 12–15 minutes, until both the potatoes and cauliflower are very tender.
  • Drain well, then return them to the pan.
  • Add the butter and milk, then mash until smooth for younger babies or leave slightly chunky for older toddlers.
  • Adjust consistency with a splash more milk if needed. Taste and season lightly with salt only if serving older toddlers.
  • Let cool to a safe temperature before serving to your little one.

Notes

Storage Tips: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat gently, adding a splash of milk if needed.
Age Modifications: For babies under 1, skip added salt and mash until silky smooth. For older toddlers, you can keep some soft chunks for texture.
Allergy-Friendly Substitutions: Use dairy-free butter and milk for a vegan or dairy-free version.
