Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Fork or potato masher
  • Spoon or spatula
  • 8x8-inch baking dish
  • Parchment Paper optional- for easy cleanup

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter smooth or chunky
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth. For younger babies, mash extra well for a softer texture.
  • Add the peanut butter, oats, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Stir until fully combined. The mixture will be thick!
  • Spread the mixture evenly in your baking dish, smoothing the top with a spoon or spatula.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bars are set and lightly golden around the edges.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting into small, toddler-friendly pieces. For early eaters, cut into very small bites or mash slightly.

Notes

Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight or at room temperature.
Age modifications: For babies under 1, mash bars into a spoonable texture or cut into tiny pieces. For older toddlers, leave chunkier.
Allergy-friendly swaps: Use sunflower seed or almond butter for a peanut-free version. Choose gluten-free oats if needed.
Nutrition boosters: Stir in a spoonful of ground flaxseed or chia seeds for added fiber and nutrients.
Busy parent tip: Double the batch and freeze extras—you’ll thank yourself later!
