Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Small loaf pan
  • Grater
  • Measuring cups/spoons
  • Parchment Paper optional

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup grated apple
  • 1/2 cup grated zucchini
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup honey optional for babies under 1 – skip if needed
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a small loaf pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the grated apple, grated zucchini, flour, egg, milk, honey, and baking powder. Finely grating the fruits and veggies helps picky eaters enjoy every bite without noticing the texture.
  • Gently stir everything until it’s fully mixed. The batter will be thick — that’s normal!
  • Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. You can add a sprinkle of oats or cinnamon on top for extra flavor if your toddler enjoys variety.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool slightly before slicing to help it hold together.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature — both are toddler-approved! You can even cut it into fun shapes with cookie cutters to keep snack time exciting.

Boost the Nutrition: Add flaxseed, chia seeds, or shredded carrots for extra fiber and nutrients.
Toddler Tip: Serve with yogurt, nut butter, or cut into fun shapes for extra toddler appeal.
