Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • 1 apple finely diced or grated
  • 2 cups oats
  • 1/4 cup honey skip for under age 1
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) so everything bakes evenly and comes out golden.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the oats, apple, honey, almond butter, and cinnamon. The mixture will be thick and a little sticky—this helps it hold together.
  • Spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in a thin, even layer.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring gently halfway through to help it cook evenly.
  • Let the granola cool completely on the pan—it will crisp up a bit as it cools.
  • Once cooled, break into small clusters. Serve plain, over yogurt, or with a splash of milk.
  • For younger eaters, soften with milk or yogurt before serving to make it gentle on gums.

Notes

Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or freeze in small portions for up to 2 months.
For babies under 1: Skip the honey and use mashed banana or unsweetened applesauce for sweetness.
Texture tips: Bake slightly less for a softer texture or longer for crunchier bites (great for older toddlers).
Allergy-friendly swaps: Use sunflower seed butter for nut-free; gluten-free oats if needed.
Boost nutrition: Add ground flaxseed, chia seeds, or a sprinkle of hemp hearts to the mix before baking.
Parent tip: Give your granola a fun name like “apple pie crunch” to make snack time more exciting!
